Situation: I have a Signet Security Camera System (4 x analogue cameras) that is accessed via Internet Explorer (ONLY!! Not supported in Chrome or Firefox as it uses ActiveX controls AFAIK).
Browser Issues Internet Explorer-Working Firefox-Not Working. Last Known Working Version: Firefox 49; Version 52.0, first offered to Release channel users on March 7, 2017. I can't install a 'plugin' when I'm using Internet Explorer 11. The 'plugin' will run. The plugin is downloaded from my Q-See Network Video Recorder. The 'plugin file' is. Internet Explorer You may also need to turn off ActiveX filtering. They did suggest I try using Firefox to access the NVR.

Works (in compatibility mode) in IE 10/11 but Edge on Windows10 breaks it. When accessed with Edge, the system apparently thinks I am using Safari and offers me a (Mac) client for it. System still works fineon a Win 7 box with IE 11 in Compatibility mode. There is no apparent alternative to IE to access it and it appears Edge confuses it. Is there some hidden compatibility mode in Edge? AFAIK there is no way to make this work over the net to a laptop ordesktop machine running Windows except Internet Explorer and ActiveX - which I assumed Edge would support.
This is the last computer in the house not updated to Windows 10 and I can't do it until I have a solution for this as it leaves me unable to accessmy security cameras via the LAN which is absolutely required. What the hell have you done this time Microsoft?Any help appreciated. (Buy a new security system is not an option either - there's nothing wrong with this one)Geoff. Doesn't work. Period. I would recommend you to use the Signet Security Camera system on the Internet Explorer in Windows 10.Problem basically solved now.
Works on IE in Win 10 - now that I know IE is still there in Win 10. That would have been good to knowbefore I posted this message. For some reason, nothing in the Windows 10 pre upgrade stuff I saw even mentions anything except how wonderful Edge is, nothing about IE being hidden there (no desktop or taskbar shortcut by default = hidden to me). Didn'tknow it was there. Assumed Edge had replaced it, so didn't go searching. Free download itools for windows 7.

As someone that doesn't own a tablet or anything with a touch screen the interface is far more intuitive than 8.x, which I found somewhat tedious to use without a touch screen and start menu. Thatsaid, Edge isn't impressing me at all yet. Perhaps it will grow on me.Meanwhile I upgraded my wife's laptop to 10 - for no obvious reason, neither IE or Edge are working, but Firefox and Chrome are. I'm still looking into what's going on there, when I have some specific questions, I'll ask in here.Was Win 7 on an Acer Pentium Dual cor 2gb ram - now Win 10 pro.
IE almost works, takes a long time to load. Edge can't seem to reach any website. No error messages other than 'not responding'.My own laptop has now had 3 goes at the upgrade and fails around 30% each time.
